Microneedling

This nonsurgical procedure creates micro-injuries in the skin and then infuses healthy serums to encourage collagen growth for glowing skin.

What is Microneedling?

When over-the-counter skin treatments aren't effective, but you aren't ready for surgical procedures, learn more about nonsurgical skin rejuvenation treatments such as microneedling. Dr. Wilmer Valentin is pleased to offer microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) at his office in Kingwood, TX. Microneedling uses multiple fine-gauge needles to safely and effectively create micro-injuries in the needed areas of the skin. The micro-injuries trigger the natural production of collagen and elastin, two nutrients that contribute to the overall health and appearance of your complexion. Often performed with other treatments, such as serums or platelet-rich plasma (PRP), microneedling can help reduce stretch marks, scars, and pores. Schedule a consultation at Valentin Aesthetics to discover more about the benefits of microneedling and ways to customize the procedure for your needs and goals.

How Is Microneedling Performed?

How Is Microneedling Performed?

A microneedling treatment is completed in a treatment room in about 30 – 60 minutes with local anesthesia or numbing cream if preferred, but most patients report mild or no pain and discomfort. The areas of skin being addressed will be cleaned before the microneedling handpiece is passed evenly over. Once the microneedling is complete, a topical treatment such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or a vitamin-infused serum may be applied for deeper penetration of the nutrients into the skin. A moisturizer will be massaged in along with sun protection since the treated skin will be sensitive after the treatment.
